How much did it cost you to get published?
I submitted my novel to my publisher by entering its annual novel writing contest. The entry fee was $20. Aside from that, it cost me lots of time and postage to mail stuff. Writers should never pay to publish. They should be paid. If a publisher asks a writer for money, it's probably either a scam or a vanity press.
How long did it take you to find a publisher?
From the time I began querying agents to the time I received the publishing contract, just shy of seven months.
Do you ghostwrite books? That is, if I have an idea for a novel, will you write it for me and let me put my name on it?
Only if you're already very famous.
When will your next book be out?
Hopefully my publisher will be interested in seeing it when I'm done writing it. I expect to have the first draft finished by the end of 2005. Once I go through revisions, I'll submit it through my agent.
Will someone die at the end of The Wayfarer King?
Probably. The characters are in grave danger, after all. I haven't written the end yet, so I don't know who'll die, if anyone. Or how.
